Oregon Pacific Railroad and Yard Improvements

The project will reconstruct the Oregon Pacific Railroad (OPR) yard and heavy rail track to allow for the relocation of SE Water Avenue and associated pedestrian and bike facilities.

Without the OPR yard component of the TIGER II project, SE Water Avenue’s permanent relocation cannot be completed as planned, as the existing yard site conflicts with the designed route.

 

Railroad tracks and unimproved roadways make connecting to regionally important bike commuting routes difficult.
